What I'm finding interesting is this:
Once consumption settles down, I do my now-standard comparison of rated mileage decay vs real mileage traveled, and find it's right at 20 percent. Seventy should do it.

You may not realize it but our FFE's do this calculation for us all the time: Its called
status. Yes! That mysterious status display so often discussed around here. In the above example he is mentally calculating the status to see how he is progressing--we don't have to, we just look at the display and see the -22 value!
