Re: Road trip (rental)

See my comments in red: Highway driving: Can someone reference a range versus speed chart? don't know that there is one. Pretty much anything above 55-60mph and your range drops exponentially. Also temperature and climate control usage greatly affects range. An EV is essentially opposite of the ICE...

Re: New LED main Headlight Low-Beam Bulb Anyone? Aftermarke

Is this a spam post? The FFE doesn't have 55W halogen low beams it has 20W HID. Might be 25W I don't remember. At some point they upped it to I think 35W HID. Someone correct me on the numbers.

Re: Ford is recalling 120v chargers

Thanks EVA. I'm not really sure how I stumbled upon it, but I'm glad that I did. I was surprised that the board revision for the '16 bolt EVSE was the same revision as the board in my recall replacement EVSE.

Re: Ford is recalling 120v chargers

You could always try the dim bulb test as described in this video:

It doesn't guarantee you won't let the smoke out if it's not 240V capable but makes it much less likely. I'd be surprised if they supplied a different EVSE than the Volt with your Bolt.

Re: Ford is recalling 120v chargers

So I did a little digging and it looks like the warranty charge cords are indeed 240V capable. Just need a plug adapter. Since I'm temporarily unemployed I'm not spending any money I don't have to. So I will wait untill I'm employed to make my plug adapter. The EVSE is made by Clipper Creek and I as...

Re: Ford is recalling 120v chargers

If I had to guess, you live in an area where there are more than one FFE's and they had some experience with the car. The place I went to, they've never seen an FFE or a charging cable.      Nope, EVs are pretty sparse in Ohio. You are somewhat correct though, besides...

Re: Adapt Ford's 120v charge cable to 240v

Just and update on this. I am fairly certain the convenience cords subject to the safety recall (lack the thermistor in the plug) are those with part# ending in AF and earlier. I'm 99% sure those ending in AH and later are 240 capable with a plug adapter. Not sure about AJ but I'd guess they are 240...

Re: Ford is recalling 120v chargers

You do need to take your car in. I got around to doing this last week. I went in and they ordered the new EVSE. It only took a couple of days for them to call and tell me the parts were in. Apparently in addition to the EVSE they replace the foam "organizer" for the new cord which conveniently didn'...

Re: '14 FFE Blowing Cold Air and No Heat

you need to use an ELM ODB dongle and forscan software to read the codes on the FFE. It sounds like you have air in your heater loop. Check your coolant level. Either that or the pump for the heater coolant isn't working. Unless you just want to take it in you really need to be able to read the code...
