Re: Is it best to run car to a low mileage before re-chargin

So the advice here is to keep my battery charged at 50%, giving me a 35 mile range, so that I can keep the battery from eventually degrading and giving me a 35 mile range.

(Lots of work) + (Permanent Range Anxiety) = (I'll just plug the car in every night)

Re: Question for Houston owners about my commute if I bought

I live in hot, flat Florida with a highway commute. You'd be biting your nails every day trying to get 80 miles out of the car on the highway. During the usual Texas cold snap in winter, you wouldn't make it if you turned on heat. And without a 240 volt charger, it would take 20 hours to recharge fr...

Re: "Key Not Found" light, WILL NOT START or power up

Putting a charger on a battery with dead cells won't charge it. You need to check the 12 volt for voltage and cold cranking amps at any auto parts store.

Re: Ford Focus EV faulty port charger lightning?

Getting this charger port lighting part replaced would have cost about $350, but the warranty covered it and I only paid $100.

Re: Engine Braking

I'm going to guess that if you already have a high braking score, that indicates that you are not using the conventional brakes, and you are already recovering virtually all the stored energy from the car's momentum.

Re: FFE Shopping question: Would you Rather?

I had these exact same options. The unknown element of risk in this car is battery life. Other electrical components have enormous longevity. That's why there is no preventative maintenance cycle to speak of for this car. I went with the low mileage car to minimize the biggest risk. The price ration...
