Re: Moving On......

Thanks, guys. Looking forward to my Model 3 (not a M3, that will always be a BMW to me!!), but will miss my first electric car, my FFE.

Moving On......

So, as I've stated in earlier posts, my main motivation in buying the FFE was to take advantage of the carpool lane access here in California, which saves me at least 20-25 minutes in my commute each day. That access expires in January, so I have been evaluating whether it is worth getting another c...

Re: Lease End Options

To sell it to CarMax (or to anybody else), you would have to buy the vehicle out from the lease, take title, then sell it back. Depending on the state you live in, you will also likely pay sales tax on the $12,900 (where I live, in California, I would have to pay sales tax). Question is, would Carma...

Re: Five years, 70k miles

What are you thinking about to replace the Focus? Most likely a Chevy Bolt. My biggest complaint about the Focus is the small range. But I'm open to suggestions! If you can wait a few months, you may want to consider a Hyundai Kona or Kia Niro; those will both be out late 2018 / early 2019, and sho...

Re: California Owners - White HOV stickers expiring Jan 2019

The way I read it is: if you bought your car on or after Jan 1 2017 you can apply at the end of this year for a new sticker. Will it be red? I don't know. That is correct. I bought my car in May 2015, so I have a white sticker. Unless our wonderful legislators change the current rules, my wh...

Re: 2018 FFEs sold out in California

If I had to buy today, I'd get a Bolt. But I'm thinking in 6 months to a year there will be several new EVs on the market, including new entries from Hyundai and Kia.

How does it lessen the wear on the brakes? So long as you aren't slamming on the brakes, using the brake pedal engages regen anyway, the same as driving in L, so what is the difference?

Re: upgrade from 2014 to 2018 FFE?

I have been running the exact same trade, except my current driver is a 2015 FFE. My main motivation is to get the updated carpool lane sticker, since that saves me a considerable amount of time on my commute. Here is what I discovered: 1) The lease offer on the Ford website ($149/mo) is misleading....

How can you drive for hours with a 70 mile range?
Just come to Southern California. I drive 52 miles round-trip every day, and spend 2 to 2 1/2 hours in the car doing it.
