Re: Interesting Cold Weather Event

I suggest getting a cheap 12v battery maintainer and use it in the garage with the FFE.

Re: 17.1 kWh @ 20,000 miles

I believe batteries provide more total energy to empty if a lower discharge current is used, so running a test with high load like the heater might yield a lower total energy result than typical driving at lower speeds until empty?

Re: Lease End - Get Proof That You Turned in Your Charging C

Weird, the procedure was crystal clear for me. Ford Credit had a pre-printed list. The inspection was scheduled two weeks before we turned the car in. The guy came to my house (an independent company, AutoVIN did the inspection). He was very thorough. In fact knew exactly about the charging cable a...

Can you use the backup mechanical key hidden inside the FOB to open the driver side car door?

Re: Can you set maximum charge?

Though the FFE itself doesn't have any way to set the charge amount, some external home 240V charging stations have a timer capability where you could set it to only charge for say an hour or whatever time would charge it up to the approximate level you want.

Re: Can you set maximum charge?

I can attest to the 12V battery issue being fixed. Shortly after having the latest firmware update I left my car plugged into a L1 charger while I traveled. I came back 4 days later to discover I had left my parking lights on. I'm fairly certain that whatever the firmware update they did the 12V mu...

Re: Lease End - Get Proof That You Turned in Your Charging C

Thats strange - others have reported you can setup a lease inspection a month or more before you turn in the car at the end of the lease and have it done at your home or work place while you are there. Thats what I would do, so I could see what he checks and make sure he notes down all the accessori...

Re: 2016 FFE - 12V Battery died

You can get much improved 12v battery life on cars and trucks if you use a cheap 12v battery maintainer device in the garage. Especially if the car/truck isn't driven daily.

Re: Lease End - Get Proof That You Turned in Your Charging C

Good suggestions for others who have an FFE lease return in the future. So the inspector has to note on his report that all accessories are there in the car including the 120v charging cable? How about the nav SD card and tire repair/seal kit too? I think those are the only included FFE accesssories...

Re: Emergency Backup Battery power

Yep the small solar panel chargers are only to keep the 12v battery level from discharging, it couldn't charge it much if it got discharged significantly. In my garage I use a cheap small 12v battery maintainer unit (not solar) if I'm not going to drive the FFE for several days. It just clips to the...
