Re: Using an Extension Cord With The FFE

Depends on the length you need I guess, but I have used about a 10foot 12ga extension cord successfully with the Ford 120v charging unit on my 2014 FFE many times away from home.

Re: Where is the 2017 Focus Electric???

I consider a 200+ mile range EV would be great for a longer term ownership allowing for up to 50% battery degradation over years plus the ability to run the electric heater in the winter and still have >100mile range!

Yep - thats why my default climate control setup is temp=LO (no heater, only fan) and A/C off.

Re: New 2016 FFEs for less than $20,000 before tax credit!!!

I see usually the Ford customer cash deals are only for those who finance thru Ford to buy the car.
Are there ever any Ford discount deals if you buy an FFE with cash no financing?

Re: Should I have Ford dealer service at 10,000 miles?

I have taken my 2014 FFE in for annual Ford dealer service (tire rotation, inspections) twice and they have only charged about $12 each time.
Took less than an hour with no appointment too.
I think its worth it at that price...

Re: 120v charging and Preconditioning

Yep I also confirm for Go Times you need a L2 charger.
I only use the L1 charger for a little bit of battery charging in emergencies or for a little extra margin at a location without L2 available.
I got an L2 charger installed at my home a month after I got my 2014 FFE.

Watt-Hours/Mile = Energy used from the battery over one mile distance
Note that the FFE display for total battery energy used will include accessory power as well such as climate control.

Re: My experience with the new to me FFE so far...

Or maybe he has so many other shiny things to draw his attention, he won't even notice the rebate, or understand it. He has a lot of shiny things on his plate. This one probably wouldn't make much noise one way or the other - who is going to complain if he repeals it? Who is going to notice if he d...

Re: My experience with the new to me FFE so far...

After rebates, dealer discounts, etc., I bought my 2015 Focus, brand new, for a bit under $25K. If I had stuck with a cloth, rather than leather interior, the price would have been closer to $24K. $7.5K federal tax rebate, plus $2500 California rebate, brings the price down under $15K. I wonder how...

Re: dead audio then dead 12V battery

Yep I had the 12v battery draining issue the first year with my 2014 FFE, but after the free dealer firmware update that fixed the issue I haven't had the problem in the past 1.5 years since. I did purchase early on a cheap 12v meter device that plugs into the 12v accessory jack for monitoring the 1...
