Re: FFE buying noob, need help

I leased a 2014 FFE for 3 years, just turned it in a couple months ago. Be aware that the old 2G modem in these earlier models needs to be upgraded in order to work with modern cellular networks for the MyFordMobile app to function. On a used model, ask if all the available factory updates have been...

Re: intermittent 12 volt battery drain

Yep thats a longstanding weak link of the FFE.
I learned to use a 12v battery maintainer overnight and get a plug in 12v meter accessory to plug in the accessory port to monitor it.
Also I got a 12v Lion battery emergency jump unit to carry in the car.

Re: FFE 12V Stranded Me for the First Time

The Lion portable jump starter unit I got from amazon a year ago has worked well, has some extra features too for use to run 12v devices with a cig lighter plug and charge USB devices plus an LED flashlight as well: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014QZZGLW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&p...

Re: FFE 12V Stranded Me for the First Time

Also while at home in the garage, you could always hook up a simple 12v battery minder device, that keeps the 12v battery charged overnight. Its easy to setup to be easily plugged and unplugged with its cable.

Re: FFE 12V Stranded Me for the First Time

I recommend keeping a portable LiOn 12v car battery jump starter unit in an FFE all time time for emergencies.

Re: 2016 FFE 12v Battery issue

Just don't keep it in the back. you can't open the hatch when the battery is dead (another design flaw) which might make it difficult to impossible to get to your jump starter. Yes watch out for keeping emergency stuff in the back. I experimented in case power was off, to open the driver's side doo...

Re: 2016 FFE 12v Battery issue

I always kept a portable jump starter battery unit in my FFE just in case.
The newer LiOn types are small enough to fit in the glove compartment and also double as a USB power source for charging cell phones, etc.

Re: Chevy Bolt Drive

Went down to Santa Maria Chevy yesterday. They had an LT model on hand so we had a test drive. I told them I wanted the Premier @ 1k down, $360 a month ... they said they could do 1k down and $470 a month. I said thanks for your time! Long story short and several hours of "thanks" - "no, wait" ... ...

Re: End of lease? What are you doing?

Good to know. Thanks! Also, since we returned the FFE, might as well share that we replaced it with a Chevy Bolt. Ended up with a monthly payment only a few bucks more (mostly due to increased taxes) and no money out of pocket. I opted to go this route instead of waiting on the Model 3 mainly due t...

Re: End of lease? What are you doing?

I just picked up my 2013 off lease and the paperwork shows the previous owner as Cab East LLC, Atlanta, GA. This is in NY but Im assuming its the same company with at least 2 divisions, 1 for each coast. Of the 2 pages of paperwork I was given that I signed at the Ford dealer to turn in the leased ...
