Re: FFE sales falling off....

It’s pretty easy to “cherry pick” a data point and then present it “out of context” and strangely enough that is what InsideEVs.com, an alleged EV proponent, has done. Given that production was halted for several months it is not surprising that sales have had a marked reduction and the reduced sale...

Re: FFE in Canada

Too funny, we are neighbours. Do you mind telling me who you dealt with? Was it Rod at Jim Keay? Perhaps we could chat more offline-if so, how do we do that (new to this forum thing)? BTW this article indicates that the '15FFE has some mildly significant cosmetic changes http://www.plugincars.com/2...

Re: CCS Gaining. Ford needs to get behind the standardand in

I expect that Ford would say any cost they proposed for such a refit was reasonable. However, for consumers reasonable probably has a very different dollar value, but yes for a consumer agreed "reasonable" price I too would get the CCS refit. It would be intersting to see just how many componets wou...

Re: FFE in Canada

Rob, Hah, You are just “up the road” from me, I’m in Aylmer! The Leaf actually has some nice features and is in some ways superior to the FFE, notably the CHAdeMO port. But no matter what niceties it has that air cooled battery is the absolute show stopper for me, even though my wife really ...

Re: 20 kW Fast Charging Future

@Rogerschro, Agreed, charging times are and will for the foreseeable future be the one fundamental characteristic of EVs that significantly impedes their widespread adoption. And yet this has in large part already been solved, or at least the opportunity for it to be solved exists! That solution is ...

Re: FFE in Canada

rbirds57 They are available for order but it is anyone’s guess as to when we will see any inventory on the lots. And even at that it is probably only our major city dealers who will receive an allocation at which point the story is they sell very quickly! (Take that for what you want however as that...

Re: Heat Stopped Working

And both cars have trouble with frosted windows and passengers. It just seems to be the nature of the beast. Yeah and to think Ford has this in the parts bin (and available in Europe for the Focus) so the engineering to include it on the FFE would be very minimal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bm...

Re: ST spoiler (replica) installation:

@studio460, So now that you’ve had this ST spoiler on for a little over a month now, do you have any indication if it is increasing your power usage (w/mile) and hence decreasing range at all, or is it all lost in the noise of the increased power use due to dropping temperatures? I know you are in L...

Re: This should be a no-brainer: QuickClear

Heated windshields are indeed a much more affordable and technically simple matter today than they were in the 70’s. Remember that back then an alternator that had a 50 amp output was pretty much the maximum both in terms of what was needed and what could be sourced at an economical cost to the auto...
