Re: No Ford Long Range BEV

The sad thing is up until this year the FFE was one of the better electric offerings which Ford chose not to market. It is now behind the curve (with the 100 mile Leaf with DC) and when they finally match that they will be behind the 200 mile cars. Absolutely! Until the next-gen Leaf and the Bolt h...

Re: No Ford Long Range BEV

Now my theory is ford is saving there tax credits sales until others figure out the right formula (car design and battery) and then they can under cut them with the $7500 credit that the major electric players will have exhausted so they can corner the market for 2 years.... AND THEN THE WORLD buha...

Re: No Ford Long Range BEV

Sad but true. Fords idea that 100 miles is to "satisfy a big chunk of the population" is totally laughable. They will have to heavily discount the car the get any sales when people have a 200 mile range car available. MNEV, I have to take exception to your basic precept here. While the effect will ...

Re: No Ford Long Range BEV

@scottt. I was about to say "clearly not applicable to me" and then noticed I had not entered my location in my profile so there was no way for you to tell I'm outside the US. Thanks for inadvertently prompting me to correct that omission. So, indeed the Fed Tax Credit will be long gone by the time ...

Re: No Ford Long Range BEV

That's actually kind of old news: Ford has been saying they will make a 100 mile FFE since early February: https://spareelectrons.wordpress.com/2016/02/02/ford-says-look-were-doing-something/ (And much of the other stuff is the same...nada, zippo, "we're performance cars, not that icky BEV crap"--y...

No Ford Long Range BEV

http://gas2.org/2016/04/18/ford-says-no-thank-you-to-200-mile-electric-car/ Well if this report is accurate, and given Ford’s less than enthusiastic history with the FFE it probably is, we can forget about a long range BEV product from Ford until BEVs gain a significant market share and simply canno...

FFE Jacking Points

Okay, so with a good weekend weather forecast and concluding we are most probably over our late winter/spring snowstorms, last night I changed Montgomery’s winter wheels/tyres for his summer set. As these FFEs don’t come with an emergency jack (at least mine didn’t) I used a small hydraulic floor ja...

Re: Field Service Action 16B02

@sefs, Thanks for your input and sharing your personal experience, painful as it may be. It seems I got off lucky and the FSAs were completed with no issues other than the dealership being very unfamiliar with the FFE. Apparently mine was only the second FFE on which they have conducted this work. S...

Re: Field Service Action 16B02

So for those of you who have had 16B02 completed how long did it take. Montgomery went in for 15C06 and 16B02 today. After having my wife wait all day, 10:30 to 15:30 they are finally giving her a loaner to get home so obviously they are holding Montgomery at least overnight. Seems rather excessive ...

Re: Value Charge Times ignored. Car starts charging immedia

What is the difference (to the car) between parking the car outside at 40 degrees and having the charger switch on at the time when rates go down (WAY DOWN for me -from 43¢ to 10¢) and having the car do battery conditioning charging (at HIGH rates) and then finish charging during the value charge w...
