Re: FFE Electrical Use

3 - Preconditioning on Level 1 doesn't seem very effective because you can only get about 1.5 Kw through the hose... Each time you precondition at L1 will cost you about 1.5 Kwh. 1 - The TMS cycles at colder temperatures using up to 200w. I can't remember what kind of duty cycle I was seeing at near...

Re: Cabin preconditioning not working

If checking with your hand, anything below skin temperature will feel cold. I just did a check with a temperature sensor and seem be be getting about a 10 degree temperature rise out of the vent; over an hour of preconditioning the cabin temperature went from 30 degrees to 50. An hour of L1 heating ...

Re: Estimating electricity use based on a route

I agree with unplugged on altitude. Multiple runs on an 1100 ft elevation change is showing me that +=grade*100 to +=grade*125 might be more accurate.

Re: Just about ran the battery out yesterday, barely made it

I did my last test back in Oct; I didn't note the temp but I'm going to guess 50ish. There was a distinct non-linearity at both top and bottom. 1500 mi on the car. Charge Used-kWh Level% 99 0.0 95 0.4 90 1.1 85 1.9 80 2.8 75 3.9 70 4.8 65 5.8 60 6.7 55 7.7 50 8.7 45 9.8 40 11.1 35 12.3 30 13.3 25 14...

Re: Battery thermal management system

Two more data points: At 0 deg F my 120V system continued to draw about 200w continuous (same as 35 deg). At 45 degrees it seemed to cycle between 2.4w (idle) and 200w for an average of about 50w. (I'm anxious to see what it does at 50 deg, but may have to wait awhile...). With a 240V system it migh...

Re: Battery thermal management system

In cold weather (35 deg and below) my (120V) charger draws a relatively constant 200-220 watts when the HV battery is fully charged. Once I see a couple of warmer days, I'll try to characterize this better. I'm a bit disappointed that Ford doesn't get any more specific than "cold" and "hot" for acti...

Re: Remote controlling your charging station

Not an issue Unplugged - My charger is plugged into a remote controlled outlet (insteon). I was using it to fine tune the value charge during the summer.
