Re: New/used for roughly 100 mile (soon 2b 70) daily round t

So long as you plug in at work you will be just fine. 100 Mile Round Trip (50 mile leg) - Plugging in at work a must at all times. Heater may have to be curtailed a little bit (only run 70% of the time). The FFE heater has a HUGE battery penalty. AC should be ok at 100%. Might have to limit speed to...

Re: If you could change 3 thing...

3) Traction control is bad from a stand still. Wheel always slips for a moment on the slightest amount of loose rock and dirt. I think this is the reason for such terrible acceleration from zero. Too much torque I guess. If you are going 30 mph and floor the pedal, the car moves out quite quickly. ...

Re: September Sales-110 Units/Trouble in Fordsville

I have mentioned this before but in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex there were only 3 FFE's in the entire area!! They sold quickly and I got the white one!! Ford has some sort of car-shuffle deal with the FFE's. On the ford site it appears that the dealer by you has one, but in reality that just mea...

Yes! Is is super noticeable and weird! ...but not technically bad. I ignore it...mostly.

Re: If you could change 3 thing...

I don't think that is what he means. On a Cadillac if you have auto lock enabled it will automatically lock the doors as you walk away from the vehicle--you don't ever have to remember to hit the lock button on your way out. Oh!! :o I didn't know that feature existed on a Cadillac. Thanks Jamie! Ex...

2) auto lock. My Caddilac has this, love it! The Focus Electric doors don't lock automatically when you drive? Not what I meant. I meant when you walk away from the FFE, the car knows and locks itself. Sorta the other half of how it semi-auto unlocks when you touch the handle. The FFE even honks if...

Re: If you could change 3 thing...

1) more range option (would elevate heater hit)
2) auto lock. My Caddilac has this, love it!
3) Homelink option

Somebody else mentioned LED external lights. ...would also be nice.

Dark interior? Pass. Just makes the AC work even harder.

Re: Mental note: Buy a car with a spare tire next time!

I am going to, when I get a chance, get a regular spare donut and just chuck it in the back. Focus spares are comically tiny. I am thinking it will be worth the space it takes up. ...or maybe keep it at home and just have my wife bring it out to me. ...or vica versa. Not like these cars can get THAT...

Re: Texas Summer about to start - Temp Management System Que

I don't think that's an issue. The car is locked. And especially if you are at work...in many cases the parking lots are relatively secure. I don't hesitate to leave my windows down a little at work although I wouldn't do so in a public place. In a semi-private garage, like at work, maybe not an is...

Re: Texas Summer about to start - Temp Management System Que

Thanks for all the information FFE brain trust. I'll probably work out a system where I run the car while locked and leave the windows open and a shade inside. I did read the other detailed thread on the percent of charge affecting the severity of effect of heat. By the time I get to work I have 'sp...
