Re: End of lease? What are you doing?

Anyone that returned their leased Ford car in California to a Ford dealer, did you have to yourself go online to the DMV website, to enter info there for a "Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability" form within 5 days? Or did the Ford dealer do this for you as part of the lease end turn in proce...

Re: End of lease? What are you doing?

My 2014 FFE lease ends at the end of this month. Has anyone gotten the free 3rd party inspection prior to turning in their leased Ford car? I'm trying to set that up now since I'd prefer to know in advance if they find anything to charge for, then be surprised after I turn it in to the local dealer...

Re: 18650 laptop cells for increased range?!

This would be very expensive and difficult. A much better plan would be to buy an EV that meets your range need where all this work was done by the manufacturer.

Re: Chevy Bolt Drive

I'm curious what the estimated delivery time for a Bolt is. When I looked in March, they were quoting me up to 12 months. That's when I decided maybe I didn't need the full 383 km range, which led me to the Ford dealer. :D What I really want is something more like the FFE with the range of the Bolt...

Re: Chevy Bolt Drive

For what it's worth....I tried to rent a Bolt on GM's Maven car sharing service (like zipcar). They are the worst and most incompetent. Worst customer service I've encountered from anyone is years. I rather deal with the DMV. Avoid them at all costs. I was unable to rent the Bolt, ended up going to ...

Re: Chevy Bolt Drive

I'm to the wire and need to get something by the end of the month. This weekend I plan to rent a Bolt for a few hours, see how it compares with my old FFE and with my Volt, which is the alternative I'm considering.

Re: FFE Liquid Cooling vs VW eGolf Air Cooling

It's not only the overall temperature but also the possibility of local hotspots in the pack. Liquid is better.

Re: Using an Extension Cord With The FFE

It will absolutely work if the cord is properly rated for the current drawn. The reason manufacturers always say not to use an extension cord is because you are not supposed to do so. Article 625 of the NEC sets a maximum distance of 12" for the cord from the outlet to the EVSE protective equipment....

Re: 17.1 kWh @ 20,000 miles

Battery age is also an important factor. A three year old battery with low miles could easily have faded I'm active on the Chevy Bolt forum and the guys there want to believe the Bolt battery won't fade in the same way that many here believed, three years ago, that the Focus battery would never fade...

Re: Where is the 2017 Focus Electric???

I consider a 200+ mile range EV would be great for a longer term ownership allowing for up to 50% battery degradation over years plus the ability to run the electric heater in the winter and still have >100mile range! I totally agree. I consider the Bolt range to be 120 miles, in the winter, after ...
