Re: I still have the FFE

Update: Car still in the shop. Weeks have turned into months. Ford is having a tough time figuring out the problem. They have replace the motor. No fix. They also did something with the 'transmission' (or the electric equivalent). Now they are rebuilding the battery. Unfortunately 'rebuilding' does...

Re: May 7 2018; End of North American Focus production

That's sad news. The FFE is a really great car. Ford has bigger ideas for electric (cough cough SUV, yuck).

Re: GPS Intermittently Working

I bet there's even more to it with a BEV - the dealership probably gets the full $7,500 tax credit. Just like leasing companies get the money. So yeah, they make a ton more money selling the FFE used than they do new.

Although all that misses a big cost, the cost of carrying the inventory.

Re: Lost Charging Quadrant Not covered by Warranty

That's sad, but not unexpected. I guess the reason it isn't covered as an EV component - the part is listed as a Body / Fender component. Hard to figure out why it is $500 to replace. The port is $85 CHARGING PORT - FORD (CM5Z-10370-E) Now if that includes the LED lights or not is hard to tell from ...

Re: Bumper valance

Sorry, I don't have personal experience with that part. When you asked about getting parts or seeing a diagram, I thought of the parts department. Over the long haul, I really like AutoNation White Bear Lake (used to be Tousley Ford). Here is the exploded diagram for the front body panels https://pa...

Re: Exhaustive quantitative Power and Energy values at speed

Wow, thanks for that addition. I mentioned that issue with cabin heating the FFE versus Tesla from personal experience. Tesla requires very little energy to heat the interior. I've driven long distances in really cold weather. Turning off the interior heat would normally end up with a car getting co...

Re: Exhaustive quantitative Power and Energy values at speed

Well yeah, congratulations on the battery replacement. Here's to hoping we all have such good luck! (although being without the car for a month is not a good thing). I love the derivation - scientific approach to energy use. Thank you so much for the explanation. That's so darn cool. A thought - roa...

Re: Tax credit

Probably one of the most confusing things in the world to understand. We all think our tax bill is the amount of money we owe after we file our taxes. Hey I got a refund, so I didn't pay any taxes. Yipeee. The reality - Triangles got it exactly right - the ideal situation is to have $0 due or $0 in ...
