If I did it I would want my mod to mimic whatever the FFE is expecting that PTC heater core to do. I'd disconnect the high-voltage cable and use the control wires to turn on/off my new "heater" and let all the FFE's electronics do what they were going to do--including running the coolant pump. Yes you'll loose a little bit of range from the snow tires (in addition to being "sticky" they are a bit softer which has a larger rolling resistance).

If you don't already have this guy, take a look. It describes all the cooling (and heating) loops in the FFE (in general terms but it sounds like this is more info than you already have).

I simply used gloves on my hands to brush the snow/ice off before unplugging when I parked the FFE outside. The Bolt is currently outside and I'm doing the same thing--so far its a little worse than the FFE was as the way the Bolt's door closes leaves more snow behind it than the FFE's circle thing ...

That would be great - the only problem is that I have imported this car from Canada and I live in Europe :) - I'm almost 100% sure no Ford dealership here is able to do that :( I would try them. Ford service is pretty global now they may have the capability to reprogram your Canadian car at your lo...

Nope: C-Max stopped production in North America the same day (May 2018) that the Focus did (all North American Focuses).
