Re: SKL Motorworks advertising a FFE Performance Chip

Considering it looks like that modifies either the throttle position or the MAF sensor reading I doubt that would work with the FFE as it has neither.

Re: Key In Fob

When the 12V battery dies you wouldn't be able to get in the car without using the key as everything is electric.

Re: Go time - not working?

Well "modem update" could very well have been the 2G to 3G update; or it could have been a software update. You don't really know. My lease was up right around the 2G -> 3G transition. As such my 2013 FFE had a 2G modem in it and my 2016 C-Max had a 3G modem in it. Not sure about the longevity of th...

Wasn't an "issue" (e.g. something wrong with the modem) it was the fact that AT&T decommissioned the 2G network and thus the cars couldn't talk to the server anymore unless they were upgraded to 3G.

Re: EVSE Mounting Ideas

Short cords? My Bosch/SPX EVSE (ironically originally sold for the Volt but I've used it for my FFE, C-Max, and now Bolt) has a 20ft cord on it, my Clipper Creek EVSE also has a 20ish ft cord, ok my Juicebox has only about a 3ft cord. Or do you mean the other cord? The input cord? ah yeah they all h...

Re: charging rates

Maybe Chargepoint is wrong, but it shows that my newly installed home EVSE is pulling 6.98 kW (though it shows 23 miles added in an hour (real time). I thought it peaked at 6.6 kW. I'm running it out of a Nema 6-50 with a 60A breaker. Its 6.6kW into the battery, there are losses in the EVSE, and th...

Re: Performance Upgrade Complete

Funny, as soon as I bought my FFE I was very tempted to stick some ST badges on it. Only because if you know what ST means, you know that my Electric isn't one. If you cant tell the difference, you most likely have no idea what those letters mean. Blasphemy? Not at all. I once raced an ST with my F...

Re: New to me '13 FEE

Where are you located? Its possible those are already taken (here in Michigan the DMV has a website that you can check to see if a personalized plate is already taken).

I had one on my FFE (Ford Focus Electric): ZZZT Yeah I know "what?" sound it out--electricity ;)

Re: Lease End Options

Well the amount of $$ Ford would want is spelled out on the lease agreement, unless they make you an offer. You really can't make an offer to them you have to wait for them--and in my experience they just won't (if you call Ford Credit they will just direct you to the number on the lease contract).

Re: Lease End Options

Why not just turn it in?

Take it to the Ford dealer hand them the keys and walk away... Thats usually how leases end.
