MFT/Sync Tips and Tricks

I'm going to put this out here because I'm guessing many people are using MFT wrong (much like Consumer's Reports--they just don't get it). Here are some tips/tricks that I've come to know about MFT/Sync over the past 2.5 years: The biggest tip about MFT is don't touch it while you're driving! Thats...

Re: Pros and Cons

Hehe... I let a friend drive my FFE and he commented it had the feel of driving something European like a BMW or Audi. I think the EV smoothness and quietness had a lot to do with that impression. Not so: The Focus is a European car to begin with (was designed in Germany) so the chassis already has...

Re: Stop Safely Now Warning

It should be fairly easy to validate that: "Start the car" and check the voltage across the 12V battery with a voltmeter--if the voltage is ~14V then the battery is charging, if 12V or less it isn't charging. On an ICE vehicle the alternator/regulator puts 14V to the battery; I would suspect that on...

Re: FFE now available at the closest dealer to the plant.

Press the sync button and say: "Bluetooth audio" when prompted, if prompted for a 2nd command say: "Play". That should start playing audio via bluetooth from your phone (at least that works for me on my ICE Focus with MyFordTouch).

14 weeks wow! I'm into my 5th week now...

Re: Saw one on the road..

Considering they only sold, what, 660 or so last year, and have only sold 240 so far this year (~80 in Jan, and ~160 in Feb--hmm incentives working?) it makes sense that not very many are visible. In my case: I live in Ford country: My city is a very nice commute from Dearborn, and I'm only about 5 ...

Saw one on the road..

Hey I saw a FFE out in the wild today, ironically it was at a gas station. (This one makes a total of 5 that I've seen since FFE's were announced about 2 years ago. 3 of those sightings came within the past 3 months.) So was anyone here with a black FFE at the BP gas station on the corner of Michiga...

Break In...?

This question is for those of you with more than a few miles on your FFE: Has the efficiency gone up? Is there a point where you notice that the wHr/mile goes down? Source of my question: The owners manual does say that the "mileage" will go up after the vehicle is "broken in" (granted an electric v...

Re: Cool Plates

Don't have anything yet as my FFE is still on order.

I did check what is available here (MI) and have been considering 'ZZZZT' (which is available).

Re: Stop Safely Now Warning

All of the dashboard indicators are explained in the owners manual (for both the Focus Electric, and the conventionally powered Focus). Been reviewing the owners manual while I wait for my order to complete. The FFE's owner's manual is very detailed (including how to replace the exterior lamps and a...

Re: MFT ignoring touch input... then rebooted... while drivi

Have any of you tried pulling the fuse for Sync and letting it do a "hard reboot"? This usually fixes any MFT issues for me (granted in an ICE Focus though). On my ICE Focus the Sync fuse is in the fusebox in the passenger footwell--its a pain to get to. My procedure: Turn engine off, pull fuse, tur...
