Re: no audio

I suspect the reason people are having dead 12 volt batteries is because of the radio not shutting down. This could be due to microprossor in the radio crashing. Even with the radio turned off it is still on. All it does is turn off the sound source to the radio. This is because Sync and the navigat...

Re: So I'm pretty sure Ford has given up on us...

I would think Ford does have some development work going on. I beleave this because of the increased personel Ford has taken on over the last year. It is yet to be seen if such efforts will result in a vehicle being brought to market.

Re: The FFE Sync and MyFord Mobile End will end before 1/1/1

Why not just install a duel mode 3G/4G modem. It simple uses what signal is available at the time. This would extend out the life of the hardware longer. Ford should also offer at the time of the upgrade customer the option of extending the service. Ford could possible offer mobile hot spot service ...

Cleaning electric heated seates

What is the best method of cleaning the electric heated seats? Since my car is three years old, and the front drivers seat is starting to get soiled. I figure it's time to clean the seats.

Re: 2014 Ford Focus Electric DOA / Thinks It's on Charger

Understanding the J1772 connector. Measure the DC voltage from pin 5 to the common pin. Pin 5 is the proximity connection. This is one of the small pins on the cars charging port. The common pin is the large bottom pin. You should meassure about 4.5 volts between the two pins. When the car is plugge...

Re: New Focus, new FFE?

If i remember right Ford spent a boat load of money upgrading the Michigan assembly plant when they re-opened it. It would make no sense to close it down.

New Focus, new FFE?

When Ford comes out with an all new Focus will thier be a FFE? Or will Ford build a vehicle that is disgned to be an electric only? I do like how the Focus body looks. Ford does keep a very tight lid on new products. If something is coming down the line, I would exspect to see it at the Detroit auto...

Re: FFE Transmission Failure

On a ICE focus will have a torque surge when the transmission shifts into the next higher gear. Also the firering pulses from the engine will produce torque pulses that are transmitted through the entire drive line. While the FFE one speed gear box, has no shift points. The three phase motor produce...

Re: My two cents

I would make sure the traction control is enabled. The traction control should kick in when tire slip is detected. This should help increase tire life. I have 24k miles on my tires right now with no wear issues yet. It should be possible to get 40k or more out of the tires.

Re: Voltage drop when charging.

I was thinking this could be usefull when using a public charging station. Since the install qualty can very widely.
 A charging station at a distance of 318 feet, of 8 ga copper wire, and 30 amps of current the vehicle will see a drop of 12 volts (5%).
