Re: 50 amp outlet

My understanding is the breaker is to protect the home wiring, not necessarily the equipment attached to it. If the wire in the walls is rated for 50A, then the breaker will protect your wiring from burning up in the walls. Now for the device you plug into the receptacle. I have an alarm clock that ...

Re: My FFE has died - symptoms of battery failure

First of all, your symptoms seem similar to mine when the car needed the replacement battery. As for a loaner car, I'd venture to guess that it isn't mandatory that anything be provided to you unless the warranty provides it and I don't think it does. Ford or the Dealer may provide it on good will. ...

Re: '14 FFE Blowing Cold Air and No Heat

I had this issue when I had my battery replaced and the dealer forgot to put the coolant back in. After I filled it myself, 2 of the 3 coolant loops were able to purge the air out of the system except the cabin heater loop. If standing in front of the car looking at the motor bay and the hood up, th...

Re: My 23 KW battery is being replaced

Congrats. I had my 2012 battery replaced just over a year ago. Make sure they don't forget to put the coolant back in...my dealer forgot that step. They also forgot to ensure all the high voltage connections were nice and snug. almost a year following the battery replacement I got the stop safely no...

Re: FFE Wont Accept 32A charging

That's exactly what I was thinking as I've had this problem before. Check the coolant. If it starts to charge at high current but later encounters a charging fault, then there is a chance the reason is due to coolant or air in the loop and the on board charger is getting too hot. It will attempt to ...

Re: Seeking advice from current/previous owners- considering

I'll take a stab at this. If I was in your situation with the things you mentioned, I'd go for it. My commute is 30mi /day, and if it it were freezing outside, that would not impact my range to the point of range anxiety. You are travelling less, so for you too, it is a non-issue. FFE is well equipp...

Re: Auto door handle sensor not working

If someone else has their hand on another door handle, that will keep the driver (person with the key) from being able to open their door....at least on my 2012. I don't think that's the case here, but thought I'd mention it just in case.

Re: Key In Fob

I had to use it just last month. Returned from a day flight and the car would not unlock. I usually keep my key in my carry-on so I thought I lost the key. Then I tried to use the app to unlock the car but the app could not connect. So I tore my carry-on apart and found the key and it was then I rea...

Re: Stuck in Value Charge

I haven't had this problem specifically, but I have had issues transitioning from "charge now" to "value charge". I can't quite put my finger on it, but it seems it has problem if I don't select the change right after I power off the car. It takes several seconds for the car to make the change and i...

Re: California Owners - White HOV stickers expiring Jan 2019

I looked at it recently and here is what I understood. If you have white stickers in CA now...or ever had stickers, that vehicle will no longer be able to ride in the carpool lane with a solo driver upon the Jan 1, 2019 expiration. However, it seems that CA wants to still extend that perk to new EV ...
