Re: Is there any way to dump the Sirius from my SYNC menus

Short of applying a piece of electrical tape at just the right spot on the screen, I don't think there is any way to remove that option.

I'm partly joking, and partly Sirius.

Re: battery capacity is going down

But, yes, you did remind me of the overall 80% charging efficiency -- which does make sense of the OP's observed "7ish" figure. Explanation: Roughly 10% is lost in the basic process of charging the battery (i.e., to store 0.9 kWh in the battery, you must apply 1 kWh to it). (This is the 90% ratio jm...

Re: battery capacity is going down

I was under the impression that the FFE has only a 6 kW charger on-board. What year is your FFE? Remember FFE's charger is 6.6 kW and the ChargePoint app is going to report the power going into the car, not the power consumed by the battery (that old 90% figure again). Thus 6.6/.90 = 7.3 I don't th...

Re: Woes of winter range

You guys have had yours longer and dug into it further, but on 3 separate occasions I have returned to the car 8 hours later during -16C ambient temperature to have between 2 to 5 km's range lost. Yes, this was probably because the battery simply got COLDER between those two points in time. It is a...

Re: Woes of winter range

Whilst parked - plugged in or not - the FFE will condition the battery - consuming the traction pack's available charge. I"m pretty sure this isn't true. It isn't true. The FFE will only condition the battery when it is plugged in or the ignition is turned on. When the FFE is not plugged in and the...

Re: Normal Range

it will report more miles as you'll use heat less (A/C really doesn't consume much at all). It will also report more range since a warmer battery has a larger capacity than a colder one. This is another reason why range drops in winter (in addition to increased energy expended heating humans and th...

I'll be sharing the car with my daughter, so i'tll be good to have a second, plus, I hate to think of loosing the one key I have. Before y...

Really? Didn't know that.
Yup, if you have an OBD app like FORScan, you can use it to see the individual pressure readings from the FFE's four TPMS sensors.
