Re: New 2017 Models below $20k BEFORE tax credit

We called the Ford dealer in question ... the advertised price of 20k included the rebates. Total Click-bait marketing. That is unethical, advertising for a federal tax REFUND that you may not even qualify for. The federal incentive is a tax credit (not a refund) that everyone qualifies for (assumi...

Re: Got screwed by a charger 1st time... Thankfully, no big

I don't think it is required for the car to be off to charge.

Once plugged in, you can't shift out of Park, but you can turn the car on/off all you want. It will keep charging.

Re: Wifi in car

I don't get it... you park at home (so the car can connect to your home wifi) and then you sit in your car connecting and using your devices?

Wouldn't you rather be in your house using your devices?

Re: Questionnaire for Electric Vehicle Charging Preferences

@joeyclegg, you might get more positive responses if you used a survey method known to be truly anonymous. There is no way for us to know if your surveymonkey.com survey is truly anonymous. It is not hard to find out that surveymonkey.com offers many features to track, and possibly identify, respond...

Re: Stalling on startup

Total WAG. Possibly the reversing contactor is sticking and not making good solid contacts for the default current path (for Drive) after being switched to Reverse. I could be wrong but I believe there is no reversing contactor. There is no "reversing contactor". The field polarity in the AC motor ...

Re: Tesla Adapter

The only reason I say that, the boxes Tesla build are tiny compared to anything anybody else is making for J1772 charging. I just can't imagine all the same components and logic are inside that tiny box. All these EVSE enclosures are way over-sized. If you open any one of them up, you will find a l...

Re: What to use to clean cloth seats?

Try a Mr. Clean "Magic Eraser" or similar product - it worked for me on my 2014 FEE with cloth seats. Huh? You rub these on the cloth seats to clean them? Don't they (the sponges) just disintegrate if you do that? For me, Magic Erasers work well on smooth or lightly textured nonporous surfaces, but...

Huh? Is this a family of one person?

Assuming more than one, what if there's an emergency and the person with the license is incapacitated and can't drive?

Re: 12v battery appears dead

There is one truth about those compact starters - if you use them more than once or twice to jump start a battery, they die. So not necessarily worth paying a lot of money for one. Maybe not so with the FFE, though. With an ICE car, the starter needs to supply a lot "cranking amps" to get the engin...
