Re: Coilovers for Focus EV

Hello Fellow Ford EV owners. I've just taken ownership of Platinum white Focus EV in Western Canada. I would like to lower it with coilovers . Does anybody know if this can be done ? I have contacted KW, H&R but they said none of the stuff for the gas models will work for the electric car. An...

Re: Down hill gental bake or coast? for recharge

I live in Los Angeles, CA USA area and I go down some long hills. I have been lightly braking thinking that I am engaging the generator function of the motor (because of the indication on the dash), but not wearing the brake pads, but I wonder if the car automatically regenerates while coasting or ...

Extending the warranty on your EVSE

I was reading on one of the "other" brand EVs sites and came across an excellent suggestion that a member made and thought I would share... If you are in the market for EVSE equipment, use a credit card that extends the warranty of electrical item purchases. American Express automatically offers twi...

Re: The MyFord Mobile app

Believe it or not I would like to selectively limit the max charge the car receives. The grade I live on provides me a +8 charge/top-off coming down in the morning and that is charge (no pun) I don't need. If I could max at 90% that would be nice.

Re: Paint chipping/bumper ripples

Sorry you are having problems. The Focus is of course based on the global Focus ICE platform and built on the same line. The point of that being there's power in numbers where manufacturing is concerned...or should be. If you have a couple or three cosmetic issues, I would say that it is unfortunate...

Re: How much $$ can the Ford Focus Electric save you?

good points on the economic breakdown. Do not however forget insurance...a necessity. It will cost you about double the Focus ICE version. This may change over time with long term acceptance, parts availability, service acumen, etc...

Re: Has anyone successfully gotten a lease?

I was able to get a $200/mo lease because it was a '12, and the dealership got FoMoCo Credit to provide a competitive lease rate given that I had leased previously with Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge. They have to get creative and be somewhat knowledgeable of the tools available to them. Best to go to a dealer...

Re: Rate Aware Charging

I'm interested to know how easy to install is your Schneider Electric charger. Thanks. It's coming tomorrow (Fri). Will post up when I install. I will probably install it very close to the subpanel, since the car will be charged close-by. If you go on your phone for MyMobileFord, there is a trip an...

Re: Getting Acquainted with the Focus Electric

i had this happen the other day when I was out running an errand. Car sat for 5 minutes while I "power-cycled" - because what else can you do really? Started back up and hasn't been a problem since. Anyone know if there is a TSB for this, maybe a SW update?

Rate Aware Charging

I've owned my FFEV for a week now and have been indiscriminately charging it. I have a 240v Schneider Electric charger that should be here any day now and that will get my charging window down to 3-4 hours max, so that I can accomdate a lower-cost window to charge. I've set the option ont he instrum...
