Re: Annoying vibrations in door panels from speakers

Anyone have information about taking apart the interior door panels? I want to look into applying a product like "Rattlepad" inside the door and/or take other measures to kill speaker vibrations. I searched for those auto repair books (Chilton, etc.) for the Ford Focus 2012 (electric or not), but t...

Re: Annoying vibrations in door panels from speakers

My right rear door does the same thing. Just a little bass in whatever music I happen to be listening to makes it vibrate. It is a busted speaker. I'm sure they awarded the contract to the lowest bidder and cut corners where they thought they could. Get it warrantied. Doors panels come off super eas...

Re: Got a BIG PG&E bill $662!

Hey Greg, I'm also staring down a huge PG&E bill and have done my homework on E9B and E9A. It was going to cost around $3K for the additional panel, service, permitting and project management costs. I've decided to take that $3K and use it to pay down the cost of a 4kW solar array. (It'll end up sa...

Got a BIG PG&E bill $662!

So my average this time of year is about $500-$560. But we were pretty conservative this year. Electrical was about $500 of that. Total kWh consumption was up to 1700 vs 1200 in the year ago period (+/-). So, in analyzing the bill, I'm clearly going to have to move to E-9B if I'm going to stick with...

Re: Nissan Leaf vs Ford Focus Electric

I did not drive the Leaf as my wife just doesn't like the way it looks. A friend has looked into both and he is leaning toward the Leaf becasue it is boxy and carries a lot of stuff and he wants to advertise 'electric car'. The FFE is just like a 'normal' car in how it looks and how it drives. We d...

Re: Things new onwer should know?

Get a Level II charger if you need a full charge available for next morning AND you almost deplete the battery in the course of your driving (40+ miles day). If you just run errands you might find the 120v charger to be sufficient for topping off. I went ahead and installed a level II anyway. I've u...

Re: Down hill gental bake or coast? for recharge

Thanks for the response, I had the same question. So I will keep light pressure on the brake on long downhills (I also live in LA area) and skip trying to figure out if low has any usefullness. Just one thing, I thought if the brake is pressed lightly the brake pads don't engage and I didn't think ...

Re: I want pure electric is the Focus for me?

Hello, New to this forum because I'm interested in the Ford Focus Electric. I currently own a 2012 Chevrolet Volt and absolutely love it!!! I want to purchase another electric vehicle in addition to my Volt but this time I want the challenge of pure electric. I was interested in the Nissan Leaf but...

Re: No Garage - Charging 120v outside

I've charged mine outside in the rainy wet weather, but my charger (er, EVSE) itself was on the inside of the garage. I think you will have to be most concerned with where the charger is placed...I wouldn't put it outside myself. The owners manual, which can be retrieved online, might answer more qu...
