Re: Coolant Change. Use forscan to get the air out?

Heima, Thanks for taking the time to post this with steps. I had gotten as far as your step 13 but couldn't figure out how to change any of the settings. I did a drain and fill on the radiator twice to serve as my "10 year - 150k mile coolant change even though I am just shy of 8 years in and l...

Coolant Change. Use forscan to get the air out?

I swear I saw this discussed somewhere on here but cannot find it. I thought you could command the coolant valves/pumps with Forscan. After doing a "warranty flush" on my coolant, I fumbled around with forscan trying to figure out where to command the pumps/diverter valves to purge the air...

Re: Clunk in Transfer Case (Video)

Not sure how it is with the FFE but on my Escort ZX2 there was a little clip in the splines of the half shaft that held it into the transmission. Not sure how it's held in on the FFE. Definitely should not be able to freely move it in and out of the TCM that much. From your video it just looked like...

Re: 12 Volt Lithium Battery from Ohmmu

It's not quite $100 cheaper than what I paid for mine.

I think the OHMMU ones can be used to start an ICE where these cheaper ones can't put out more than 50A. So there's that I guess...

Re: Battery Cooling Redux - It's Over

Glad you figured it out. I'll have to tuck this tidbit away for future reference and hope I never need it :)

Thanks for sharing!

Re: New Owner, Dealing with Inherited Key Situation

I didn't think forscan supported PATS for the MK3 focus??? Well it has been several years I guess they finally added that functionality. I ended up buying a 3rd used fob off fleabay. When my car was in for my 12V issues they had to reset everything and asked for all my fobs to reprogram the car to u...

Re: 2012-2014 FFE Battery Life

aswilliams131. Financially I think you made the right choice. It would be a different story if they had made hundreds of thousands of these cars and you could readily find salvage parts to fix them but they made less than 10K of these cars in all the years of production.

Re: 12 Volt Lithium Battery from Ohmmu

There are far cheaper options out there. I bought one similar to this a year ago. https://www.amazon.com/Lithium-phosphate-Rechargeable-Off-Grid-Applications/dp/B08FJ44ZBP The brand on mine was moseworth and doesn't appear to be on amazon anymore. it has a 50A rated BMS that will cut power to protec...

Re: Reminder of why EVs can be awesome to own

In Ohio 1 year is about $200 more than your 2 year registration but for 1 year. Yeah the $200 annual EV tax blows.

Re: Proactive upper battery back coolant bypass? Opinions

Yeah what Anti Climax said... You could also use one of those sump pump failure alarms that goes off when it detects water. Personally I keep an occasional eye on the fluid level in my coolant reservoir. I will likely watch it like a hawk after my warranty expires next winter. If you live in a very ...
