Re: Need battery module for 23kWh pack (65Ah)

Good luck. I don't think anyone with a FFE has monkeyed with the battery. I certainly haven't seen anyone on here that has the knowledge you are looking for. There is definitely a void of working knowledge with the battery packs. If batteries ever become cheap enough before my FFE rusts to dust I wo...

Re: Need battery module for 23kWh pack (65Ah)

Someday I want to rebuild mine with higher density cells. You could always just replace individual cells assuming you can find equivalent sized and rated cells. Let us know what you find. I for one am curious. :D

Re: 2015 FFE Side Windows UV Protection?

I am unaware of any clear tempered automotive glass that has UV blocking capabilities (all windows but the windshield). The plastic in your laminated windshield does offer some some UV blocking.

Take it to the dealer while you are still under the 3 year B2B warranty. Hopefully you are.

Re: Fuse Box- What's Hot What's Not

I don't believe there is a 12V that turns on/off with the car. My dash cam running for 15 min after I turn off the car successfully helped me nab a hit n run neighbor. So it's not all bad that the 12V stays on a while after turning off the car.

Re: Any advice. Lost 30%+ range and Dealer said no dice

thanks for sharing. I'll have to give that a read. I'm pretty good with my circuits and basic electrical stuff, but I freely admit I have no idea what happens when there is an issue with one cell in a parallel group of cells. Also back to the OP. I'm pretty sure the BMS will balance the cells if nee...

Re: Any advice. Lost 30%+ range and Dealer said no dice

Not to be nit picking.... ok, I guess I'm nit picking here  It would be impossible for one of the five cells to have a different voltage than the other four in a parallel group because the battery terminals from all 5 cells are electrically connected. When it comes to cell balancing you are act...

Re: Quality of Key Fob

The RFA module is what interacts with the fobs. First thing I'd try is disconnecting the 12V battery, give it a few min. and then reconnect. That should "reboot" all modules in the car. Hopefully your RFA module isn't going bad. That would be really expensive to fix.

Re: Any advice. Lost 30%+ range and Dealer said no dice

There are 86 Groups of 5 parallel cells, wired in series. Or more simply in battery short hand: 86S5P The way you worded it made it sound like you meant 5S86P. After rereading what you wrote I now understand that isn't want you meant. Not using words like "bank" or "group" to clarify. The way batter...

Re: Added Voltmeter?

I wired in my dash cam in and the 12v circuit in the car stays active for about 15 minutes. This actually saved me because it resulted in the recording of my next door neighbor backing into my car who had no insurance and refused to pay for it. So I guess It really didn't save me because they never ...
