Re: Keep the FFE or move on?

Fat Focus, Unless you are in someplace like ND your service concerns are unfounded. 7 months into my Model 3 ownership the mobile data modem failed in my Tesla. Unlike Ford and the hassle with dealership service, I used the Tesla app to request service and after a couple emails, mobile service came ...

Re: How to replace break light of a 2016 FFE?

Your answer can be found at this link :D

Oh and it's "brake" not "break." Proper spelling will probably get you better results.

Re: Keep the FFE or move on?

If for one can't wait to move on. Not because the Focus isn't good, it's just fine for basic transportation. I just want something bigger and faster. I like the Mach E, but probably would rather have an electric F150. I still owe $14k on my Focus, so probably a year and a half out from buying somet...

Pull your F1 fuse and 99% likely you will never have another 12V issue. Ford's TCU us garbage!

Re: Newish FFE owner, Chkin in! 60k miles

You can't get a battery replacement from ford outside of warranty. Unless you are dumb enuff to fork over $20K+ for a replacement battery.

Why would you want your coolant to leak?

Re: Focus Electric HACK CAN ID

Wow nice work. Someday when I can find parts cheap enough I want to build a higher capacity battery pack. I guess that means I will have to learn about CAN bus and how to use it someday.

I suppose with a larger pack adding CSS charging capability would also be nice to have.

Re: Keep the FFE or move on?

Someone needs to retrofit Tesla 18650 cells and 150 mile range seems reasonable. The problem with using Tesla modules with 18650 cells is that they come in 6 groups of cells in series which does not divide evenly into the FFE's battery has a configuration of 86 groups of cells in series. The best y...

Re: How to slightly boost on-board charger current draw?

Assuming it could be done, which I don't think it can, why would you want to go thru all the hassle for just a few more amps of charging?

Re: Allow battery maintenance power during value charge

TMS should be active whenever plugged in. Are you sure the TMS doesn't keep your battery below 95F? In winter here TMS will kick in with value charging enabled. I would find it odd that they wouldn't do the same for high heat.

Re: New FFE owner

If that electrify america is the Walmart in Erie, they don't have any plugs you can use. These appear to just be level 3 charge stations CCS and CHAdeMO, both of which a 2014 FFE cannot use.
