Re: compressor sound?

I think the noise is in a compressor for the brake booster.

It is much louder than the Volt, however, it is much quieter and faster than what I had to use for my homemade BEV Ranger.

Re: Down hill gental bake or coast? for recharge

Anyway if choosing to coast in N (davideos is correct that coasting in N is more energy efficient than coasting in D), the driver should be savvy enough to keep the right hand on the selector handle ready to pop it into D or L should slowing or speeding be necessary. No fumbling necessary. I would ...

Re: 2012 Drivers battery experience

I have a 2012 model purchased in July last year and used to have 19.5kw of usable capacity and now its dropped to about 17.5kw all of a sudden the past few months after I hit about 12k miles or so. I'm wondering if the computer has something to do with it bringing the capacity down that much since ...

Re: My purchase and tale of woe

Yikes TP... I was hoping that Ford was getting on top of this problem, sorry to hear CLUB SSN has another member. Right now I am riding around with a flight recorder in the FFE in the hopes that it will catch the problem. So far, it ain't happening. Let me ask you this, what was the approximate temp...

Re: Is the heater/defroster a range killer?

I turned on the heater and also notices a big hit. Go to MyViee and configure the view to show power draw. The bar moves to 5+kW when the heater is on Hi compared to3-4kW to run max AC. Seat heat seems to draw off the 12V system as Insee a slight increase in the "Other" power usage. Bundle up in he...

Re: Question : Regarding Portable generators and the FFE

Seriously, it makes no sense to charge with a generator on a regular basis. For starters you will burn more gas than if you just bought a Plug-In. Also you run the risk of frying some electronics given that generators produce notoriously unclean electricity. If your instance on the FFE was because o...

Re: Charging Station Options For The Focus Electric

I did some testing using the 120v charger and after 28 miles using 6.1 kWh it took 9.1 kWh to charge it up. Hopefully the level 2 Ford charger I'm having installed tomorrow will be more effecient like they profess. Those are disappointingly low efficiency numbers, IF that is just for the charger. I...

Re: My Ford Mobile Updates & Connectivity

"removed and replaced the #1, 5 amp fuse, in the left rear fender fuse box and voila, it is fixed."

Just to be sure, when you say "removed and replace" you mean you put the very same fuse back in place, so it is simply a matter of killing power to the telematics for a moment?
