Re: Focus availability

For the first few months of production, we will be concentrating on California and New York.  Our dealers in those areas will be the first to have their retail orders scheduled and receive the Focus Electric.  We will be rolling out to the remainder of our initial markets starting in Spring 2012, i...

Re: Focus Electric sounds

You can vote on Ford's electric vehicle facebook page http://tiny.cc/FordEVSoundA http://tiny.cc/FordEVSoundB http://tiny.cc/FordEVSoundC http://tiny.cc/FordEVSoundD C and D are the only two that sound appropria...

Re: Focus Electric sounds

C and D are the only two that sound appropriate to me for an electric vehicle. A and B sound like a jet engine and loud ICE car. I hope they allow it to be turned off like the Leaf does. Whichever one is chosen, pity the poor parking lot attendant who has to listen to it over, and over, and over .....

Re: Where does your electricity come from?

rsmith1,
Thanks for the great link. I see that where I live (Orange county NC) my electricity is only about half coal. That's a lot less than I would have guessed. Always more fun with the actual facts :D

Re: Focus EV Release Cities

It is interesting about hybrid percentages, but there are different metrics with a full electric vehicle like the Ford Focus Electric and we have yet to see if that will move the same people from Hybrid to EV or if it's a totally different group. More specifically, things like cold climates are rea...

Re: Battery Technology

Forgot to post this from the Ford website too: As more and more resources are being devoted to making batteries better, electricity is becoming a much more viable source of power for transportation. And that points to a future where we can be less dependent on fossil fuels. It's all so wonderful, b...

A BME is a mistyping of a BMW. Use your decoder ring. Just one little letter difference. OK, a fairly big letter. (smile).
The Ford website's sketch really is a good one.

Re: Ford Website

Has anybody else seen this website? http://www.ford.com/technology/electric/howevswork/?tab=BatteryEV It's just 'general' information about how an electric vehicle, but I'm guessing that since the only electric vehicle Ford is talking about is the Focus that it must be data related to the Focus Ele...

Is there anything from any where more specific than "later this year"? Any straws in the wind, any guesses, any rumors? Things are awfully quiet.
