Re: 12v drain when leaving L2 EVSE plugged in??

I got home yesterday at 5 PM and plugged in the eFord. Fully charged, I unplugged it at 7 PM to get the Jeep out for my neighbor. The eFord stayed off the charger overnight. This morning about 5:30 AM, it was dead. No power at all. No lights. Had to jump start the electric car from the pickup. It wa...

Ever seen a "Low Performance Mode" yellow light?

"OUTOFGAS", my '12 EV Focus with 10,908 miles tossed me a new one this past Saturday. I had trouble with the Electric Focus Saturday. I was wondering if any of you had seen it or could help explain it? Saturday I made the trip to Dad’s house and back (76 miles one way, had 14 bonus miles left so I h...

Re: Have 208V at work, useless?

Brad, What did you make to use 208V? Is it 3 phase? The street lamps in our work parking lot are 208V. Seems like the most expensive part of putting in the charging station is running the power line to the car. There are lots of street lights in the parking lot, right next to the cars. The street li...

Re: How far can the Focus Electric go?

Would you consider drafting an 18 wheeler on the interstate at 60 mph? I got down to 200 W-hr/mile that way.

Re: charges to 57 miles only

I have had that TSB 12-08 done. Full charge came back to 78 miles. Now drifting downward again, but I attributed it to the cold weather. I had a couple of 200 W-hr miles when going to my Dad's a 78 mile run. At his house it would recharge in about 1-1/2 to less than 2 hours. I would take back roads ...

Re: Technical Service Bulletin TSB 12-8-20

Wood, I think it was just a math problem and NOT actual diminishing battery capacity. I had made a couple of 78 mile trips with only 72 miles of range showing, but had 9 to 14 bonus miles when I got there. it shows 80 to 83 miles range now. Whit PS Do you run your Focus EV in California? North Carol...

Re: Technical Service Bulletin TSB 12-8-20

TSB is Technical Service Bulletin (a knotch below a recall) Automakers keep records of the warranty repairs they have to make and if they're redundant, they issue this Bulletin to dealers with the standard fix for the common problem. The automakers don't make them public. Not all cars subject to the...
