Re: What was your 'build' time?

How long did it take for most of your orders to show up in Ford's tracking system?

I'm used to being able to track a vehicle's build almost right away, but it has already been three weeks and still nothing is showing.

Dear Ford, please work on your website.

Mistakes like this are extremely silly and show a severe lack of attention to customers. When you browse Nissan's site for the Leaf and it is spot on, but then you turn to Ford and find this - it is quite sad and doesn't instill much confidence in the company's commitment to electric vehicles. Espec...

What was your 'build' time?

Evening, all!

Quick question. If you had to wait for your FFE to be built - how long was that wait time? I've been quoted around three months, but I'm curious to see what time everyone actually waited for their EV.

Thanks!

Re: Mounting EVSE on Vinyl Siding

Do some searching on youtube for how to work with vinyl siding. Assuming the siding isn't so old that it has become brittle and will crack/fall apart, the siding sort of snaps together. You could unhook some near where you want to mount the EVSE to get behind the siding. Then you will be able to de...

Mounting EVSE on Vinyl Siding

Evening, all. I have a question for you all. I'm installing an EVSE on the outside of my house. Problem is that the entire house is covered in vinyl siding. If it was just wood or concrete then I know how I would handle it, but I'm a bit lost here. I see mounting blocks as a possible option, but the...

Re: Using an Extension Cord With The FFE

Awesome, thanks. I saw that one before and it would be perfect. Like you said, I can always purchase the reel separately. :) UPDATE: Just to keep you guys updated on my research. It seems that a cord of around 20-feet pulling up to 16 amps should be 8-guage. As a result, I think I will be going with...

Re: Using an Extension Cord With The FFE

The reason manufacturers always say not to use an extension cord is because you are not supposed to do so. Article 625 of the NEC sets a maximum distance of 12" for the cord from the outlet to the EVSE protective equipment. Ah, it is a law. Interesting to see the source of the warning. I figured I'...

Re: Using an Extension Cord With The FFE

Seems to be a sensitive topic with some and a 'no big deal' conversation with others. Most people seem to do fine with a good extension cord, so I'm hoping I won't run into any trouble with a heavy duty cord. I assume that Ford discourages against it to prevent people from using old extension cords ...

Re: Questions Abour Choosing 240v Charging Stations

UPDATE: I went for a Level 2 charger! Ordered the Clipper Creek LCS-20P. Found it at a great price and it will be perfect for my needs. Thanks all! Buy a charger based on performance (charging rate), reliability, and other features that you might find important. I bought mine for a bit over $400 fr...

Using an Extension Cord With The FFE

Hello, all! I just signed the papers on a 2017 FFE lease and I'm super excited. I have a few questions for those of you knowledgable owners out there. Right now I have a 120v outlet outside by the garage, but the issue is that the included 18 foot cord wouldn't reach. Would I be able to use a heavy ...
