Re: New LED main Headlight Low-Beam Bulb Anyone? Aftermarke

Is this a spam post? The FFE doesn't have 55W halogen low beams it has 20W HID. Might be 25W I don't remember. At some point they upped it to I think 35W HID. Someone correct me on the numbers. Good catch! You are right, HID, and 25 watts, D8S part number, from the Owner's Manual. Interesting how H...

New LED main Headlight Low-Beam Bulb Anyone? Aftermarket...

Anybody try to save on watts by changing out the standard H11 halogen low-beams to one of the many new LED plug-n-play solutions? You can save around 50 watts on power draw. I usually use my headlights all day & night both, like DRL's during the day. I just leave the headlight switch 'ON" all the ti...

Re: New Recall - Differential Assembly

After 2 weeks with the loaner car with the Focus Electric still at the dealership, I stopped by to ask them what the status is. They told me that it was done yesterday and they forgot to call me. OK, well, the ordeal is over and I have the car back. It seems like the repair was done OK, and it runs ...

Re: New Recall - Differential Assembly

An update to my previous post: The parts came in Tuesday, Sept. 5, & the Ford dealership called me a day later to say they "needed to order a part" even though we had attempted to order the complete parts "kit" Ford listed to do this job completely. Now its Thursday Sept. 14 and still no word. No Fo...

Re: New Recall - Differential Assembly

Last week, my local dealership service and parts dept. told me parts are STILL no t available, while Ford was telling me they ARE AVAILABLE. So, I called Ford and asked them to "work with" the local parts department here. And that worked. Now the parts guy changed his story, said he could get the pa...

Re: New Recall - Differential Assembly

They are replacing the electric motor next. It's still not clear how it went from recall work to this point, but here we are. Looks like they first gave you a bad differential unit (the debris is proof) or forget to put oil in it. The debris getting lodged inside the differential caused shock-loadi...

Re: New Recall - Differential Assembly

A Ford engineer from the Wayne Plant in MI where the Ford Focus Electric is made talked to me yesterday at the Denver Auto Show. I was surprised Ford sent actual factory people to our "usually not respected" auto show here! LOL Anyway, he remembered the problem with our differentials, and did confi...

Re: New Recall - Differential Assembly

I heard this from two service people there: one called the debris metal and the other called it magnet shards when he read it from the service notes. If it is magnet shards, to me that sounds like something motor related. I don't know where else there are magnets . But I have no idea why this would...

Re: New Recall - Differential Assembly

My Focus now sounds like someone put a baseball card in its spokes! A guess: They forgot to put in lubrication fluid inside the differential. Or maybe not enough. Who knows. Please write back when you find out what they messed up. Could even be just a bad part, since technically all the Ford dealer...

Re: 2018 Nissan Leaf looks more like an FFE than a Leaf

Looks like the illegitimate love-child between a Ford Focus & C-Max. (Queue the romance music....) Seriously though, puff up a Focus and you have a C-Max, which is built at the same Wayne factory on the same lower chassis. Certainly not painfully ugly like the current Leaf! A face even a mother woul...
