Call Ford directly. Worst they can say is no.

Re: Possible to extend the 8yr/100 warranty?

Check with your local dealer. Make sure it's a true Ford Warranty and not 3rd party.

If it's still available, then grab it from one of the Ford Dealers selling on the internet. I got my 8/48 bumper to bumper, no deductible, first day rental for $740 via the internet.

Re: Blind Spot Monitor Function

IMO, it's foolish to not look in your mirror before changing lanes. What if someone is doing 30 or 40 MPH faster than you and you blindly change lanes? Agreed, however Ford's implementation is a VERY tiny light that you're supposed to see in a quick hurry. I much prefer the light AND warning sound ...

It's from a 3rd party called The Mechanics.
Yep, I NEVER recommend getting a 3rd party warranty when a factory warranty is available.

Re: Keep the FFE or move on?

I'm 6'3", I win :-)

And my accident was no fender bender.

If you don't feel safe in your Focus, sell it and move on. Simple as that.

Re: Keep the FFE or move on?

"Too small to feel safe in" ?????

What kind of accidents are you getting into??

I was driving a 1988 Toyota Supra. A semi decided to play sandwich with me and an underpass (solid concrete wall). Didn't even bend the frame of the Supra. Protected me so well I bought a 1989 to replace it.
