Re: Two electrics in the house

Nice set of cars. Thank you. It was fun to have two FFE's while it lasted. Could not quite manage the S85D. Although we did do an overnight test drive with one. It was quite jaw dropping. However, wifey loved a test ride in a Mitzubishi Outlander PHEV 2018. Which we bought in June 2018 and sold bot...

Re: Road trip 650km Langley, BC to Revelstoke, BC

I was planning on it for occasional use.... But now not sure... On another side note: I have to silly questions- 1) In the trunk there is a cargo net, but I have no idea where its suppose to connect to at the 4 points? If you know show me a photo? 2) Under the hood at the top near the windshield ar...

Re: Road trip 650km Langley, BC to Revelstoke, BC

2013 FFE and 2017 FFE In my trip Chilliwack to Manning is 120+- with the peak elevation closer to the end of leg. Hope to Merrett is also 120+- with peak closer to start of the leg. The Manning's peak is 100m higher. I reached the peak of the Manning's leg with 8% remaining. It should be do able Hop...

Although I'm actively looking to switch the 2013 for a 2015/16 S 85D
Would like to do some long distance traveling in the next couple of years.

Will keep the 2017 and finally get rid of our 2002 Dakota Quad cab licenced for long winter trips.

Re: 2 FFE's, 10 days vacation, 1 depleted and 1 just below 1

Go times are skipped if not plugged in right? They are, but does the system check to see if power is present at some point / points along the way. If the telematic module is acting up, i.e. not communicating to the app, could this cause some sort of continual loop for the head unit? Big assumptions...

Re: 2 FFE's, 10 days vacation, 1 depleted and 1 just below 1

Very interesting link. Used a digital smart charger. Thursday overnight. Resting voltage read 12.55v. Friday did not charge car. Took readings through the day Friday, between 12.55v to 12.75v. Saturday charged car to 90%. Did not drive the car. Readings through day read the same as Friday. Some addi...

Re: Is replacing the 12v battery a DIY job?

It is as easy as any other one I've changed over the years. Have you ever changed a car battery before? Respect the order you remove the terminals... Negative first. Do not use long bare metal tools when work with a battery! The plastic battery surround towards the front of the car needs to be remov...

Re: 2 FFE's, 10 days vacation, 1 depleted and 1 just below 1

Thank you for the reply and link. I'm wondering if pulling the F1 fuse for the duration of an airport stay would give the 12v battery a break. I don't remember anyone mentioning this. I have pulled then reinserted this fuse to fix a non-responsive telematic module... I think that's what it's called....
