Any advice. Lost 30%+ range and Dealer said no dice

2014. 60K miles. Garaged in cool valley in Hawaii. Well cared for. But now with 30% range loss I can't make trips to the west side of Oahu anymore. Dealer said no warranty for range reductions but wants to charge me $500 to balance my pack. How did guys here get battery swaps?

Re: Insurance Cancelled - Reason: unacceptable vehicle!!

* Apparently GEICO will not insure electric cars in HAWAII ?? Go figure. Not true. Have been driving electric since a 2012 iMiev and now a 2014 FFE. Both cars were insured no problem with Geico. I'm in Hawaii. In between I switched to State Farm (bad move) and then moved back to Geico (good move). ...

Re: Possible to use a spare tire jack to change a tire?

Thanks will look more closely later. I peeked and it seemed like there wasn't a spot near the back to slot in a spare tire jack.

Gave up. Going to have it towed to get my flat changed.

Re: You may also get frustrated when you get a flat tire :-(

Be grateful we have these Michelin tires. The Goodyear tires on Volts blow sidewalls with alarming regularity for no apparent reason. Only problem I've had with the FFE tires were legitimate road hazards like nails. That makes me feel a little better. I did run over a chunk of metal. Hoping another...

You may also get frustrated when you get a flat tire :-(

Ok got my first flat. Just a warning to others who may experience similar issues: Called five or six places including the Ford dealer, Costco & Firestone. NO ONE has this tire in stock or an equivalent LRR tire. Finally found a tire shop that had one that would work. $280 installed for one. Ouch. Ca...

Re: 2012 FFE Trailer hitch

I'm 99% sure the 2015 and 2016 body panels are the same so if it fits a 2015 it should fit a 2016. I know this doesn't help much but I don't think ford changed anything to the "frame" just the front fascia and some body tweaks with the 2015+ models. I bought one for my 2014 but haven't installed it...

Re: Seems that iOS 9.1 broke text messaging with SYNC

How do you turn off automatically starting iTunes whenever I connect to the car? I think that is a really dumb feature. Even worse, how do I set the default to use the car's mic and speaker? When I get or sometimes make a call, even if I am connected to the car the default is the iphone and I have t...

I see the update on the iPhone version. The Android version is really buggy. It grays out features that work on the iPhone version.

Re: New FFE buyer with questions

My experience with extended warranties (twice so far, once through Dodge and the second through Nissan) was that, whatever broke, it wasn't covered. The only time my extended warranty helped was when the exhaust manifolds on my Nissan Armada cracked; then, it turned out that they would have been co...
