Re: Key not detected

I had this happen too. When the car didn't recognize the key, I would just push the unlock button on the fob and that would activate the key enough for the car to recognize it. I later replaced the battery in the fob and no problems since.

Re: finding an FFE to test drive?

I owned a 2012 Focus SEL, with leather seats in Frosted Glass. Loved that car. But I decided I wanted the FFE. After a couple of years, I found one used, 2012 in Frosted glass, in Wisconsin. (I live in Ohio) Called, made the arrangements, Had it delivered and my SEL picked up as trade. two years lat...

Re: generator as range extender

One question I would have is what about heat generation? Wouldn't there be some concern about the amount of heat buildup in the batteries and in the electrical components, lines etc? I'm not sure the FFE would handle the extra load of charging and discharging at the same time, or pulling that level ...

Re: Black ST style headlamp housings?

Most likely it is because of the LED lights and electrical connectors. I suspect the housing itself is the same.

Re: What are these 2 slits next to shifter?

They are for cards. gas cards, charge point cards, punch cards for coffee or donuts, access cards for parking etc. any type of card that you would use when driving your car instead of searching in your wallet or purse all the time. I use it for my coffee card. Could be good for insurance card too. n...

Re: Buying a lemon law FFE

But the federal tax credit doesn't come until the following year, so its not part of the "out the door" price which actually should be $22,889.99 in this example. Thats assuming that price includes all taxes and fees too. "Out the door" price is what you pay the dealer in total. Any rebates or tax ...

Re: Its starting to get cold outside. How's your range doin

Last winter my FFE averaged 55-60 range when it was highs in the 30-40s. Most times when I went that far, I still had 10-20 left estimate. I charge the car in a barely heated garage, about 40-50 degrees, and do not precondition. My car is set at 65-68 degrees, (74 when my girlfriend drives it.)

Re: Lost charging port cover/door

Most parts if pre-painted, will not match very well. There is a surprising amount of variance in color due to mix and condition of weather, equipment and thickness applied. Sometimes the supplier of the paint will use a different source for their colors and that will shift the color slightly. Just l...

An article on EV pollution!

This was posted on Huffington, Article appeared on Citylab. There were a few things that seemed wrong about the conclusions drawn and the choices of data selected to get the results. I have a 2012 FFE with 6000 km on it.... recently the battery charge has been up and own from 204km range to this morning 154km range. Outside temps in the 65-80 range.
