Re: My 23 KW battery is being replaced

After 3 and half weeks of unanswered phone calls, five-word email responses and, no loaner car I got my car back with a refurbished 23kw battery pack. The experience with the dealer has been absolutely the worst I've ever experienced. I tried changed it for the first time on the weekend and got up i...

Re: Lost Charging Quadrant Not covered by Warranty

It's the charge ring - you don't need the port. The port and ring are separate from each other. There's no need to disconnect anything high voltage (ie the charge port). The ring is just connected the the 12 volt wiring only.

Re: My 23 KW battery is being replaced

This is certainly not good news - this should make other owners (especially of newer cars) very, very worried. This says to me that Ford is no longer manufacturing new packs. What will happen to the 2018 cars when it is 2026 and "newest" replacement packs available are AT LEAST 8 years old?? Will Fo...

Re: My 23 KW battery is being replaced

I have a 2012 FFE that is currently at the dealer for a warranty HV battery replacement. The dealer has confirmed that I am to get a re-manufactured battery and not a new one (part number CM5Z 10B759 TARM). I'm really interested to know if you received a new battery or a used one?

Re: My FFE has died - symptoms of battery failure

So I spoke too soon and just heard back from the dealer. It is indeed a "re-manufactured" battery. The part number is CM5Z 10B759 TARM .. Needless to say, I'm not impressed. I definitely want to know what they have done to "re-manufacture" it and what the warranty is...... I'd also really, really li...

Re: My FFE has died - symptoms of battery failure

I tried calling Ford Canada Customer service. I'm assuming the Canadian telephone menu is different than the US because there was no option for Hybrid/Electric vehicles. Unfortunately, the agent wouldn't allow me to speak to the warranty department for electric vehicles as they said warranty support...

Re: My FFE has died - symptoms of battery failure

So an update from the dealer today - no loaner vehicle, and I'm apparently getting a refurbished battery pack. I can live with no loaner (the dealer says the battery will arrive at the dealer in 5-7 business days) but I'm really disappointed about a refurbished battery. I know that the is no obligat...

Re: My FFE has died - symptoms of battery failure

So the dealer has concluded that the HV battery has failed and Ford has approved a warranty replacement. I haven't received any paperwork, so I don't know the cause of the failure yet. I've been told that the battery may "take a while" to arrive (they are working on a ETA), however, Ford won't provi...

My FFE has died - symptoms of battery failure

I've owned my 2012 FFE since the summer of 2013. Overall, I've been happy with the car, but like many others I've experienced a few Stop Safety Now incidents along the way. All so far have been fairly minor, mostly happening in my garage at start-up and easily reset by restarting the car a couple ti...

Re: Lost Charging Quadrant Not covered by Warranty

I recently replaced the light ring myself and thought a picture might be helpful to those who might be considering a DIY repair. Contrary to a previous post, it would be EXTREMELY difficult to remove it without removing the fender liner. Even if you could, there isn't enough room to get your hand do...
