Re: Car Charging Etiquette! :D

I am keeping detailed records of trips we make frequently between the Focus Electric and the Fusion Energi to see how their electricity consumption compares. I don't have a very large data set yet, only about 20 trips, but from what I see so far there is no statistically significant difference in W...

Re: Car Charging Etiquette! :D

Do you find many 240 stations on Plugshare? Almost all the residential stations I see on there are 120V outlets. Most Plugshare sites are 208 or 240v. You can filter the view to eliminate the 120v outlets. We often make trips beyond the range of the FFE. You just need to have a backup for each plac...

Re: Car Charging Etiquette! :D

... We have no range anxiety in the Focus Electric. We have a lot of range anxiety when driving the Fusion Energi because of trying to not exceed its limited electric range unless we're going beyond the range of the Focus Electric. Thus we use public charging more in the Energi. This mentality is f...

Re: Car Charging Etiquette! :D

Over on the Tesla forum this subject naturally comes up now and then. Tesla has a program where they offer a free charging station to qualified retail businesses and hotels if they will pay to install it. Since those chargers are usually 80A the question came up regarding how much new charging capac...

At that price I wonder how much Ford is losing on each sale.

Re: Just about ran the battery out yesterday, barely made it

hcsharp, thanks for your report. I posted in this old thread because it had the most information already about this behavior, including your own report from a last year . Oops. Sorry for posting the same info again! It's interesting having an 18 yr old around. We recently went away for the weekend ...

Re: Just about ran the battery out yesterday, barely made it

My son (age 18) ran ours down to 0 miles and kept driving just shy of 2 miles before pulling into our driveway. He had some up-hill and some down, but overall he finished at a higher elevation. But don't count on this. Others have gone less than a half mile before it shut down.

Re: Stop Safely Now Warning

Curious if anyone has had an SSN warning on a 2014 model? Considering buying a FFE but the fact that some are still having the issue worries me. Thanks. It's extremely rare since the recall to update firmware. I wouldn't worry about it. I don't doubt dnkoester is having a problem but it's quite unu...
