I believe you are correct. At least that is how it was explained on my lease.

either that or they ripped me off.

Re: Brake Grab

Without knowing how severe it is it is hard to judge. But the brakes do feel different with the regen effect, the transition from regen to normal braking.

Every once in a awhile I do feel a little "grab" on initial braking, but I have just chalked it up to a characteristic of the regen system.

Re: Coilovers for Focus EV

I would really like to lower mine for appearance... but I also wonder if it would improve drag coefficient at freeway speeds. Seems like it would. That would make it worth it to try and figure it out. The car is good looking and the rims are already nice. improving the "stance" would be the cherry o...

Re: SoCal Range Estimates

Thanks for the tip, yes I'm with SCE. I went to SCE's plug-in vehicle web site and did their analysis. For my situation, it looks like having an EV vehicle is actually more expensive per month. Their results indicate $22 a month more than my current car, even when using a dedicated meter under the ...

Re: Stock Sony Amplifier / Subwoofer?

I think there is a sub somewhere... just from listening to it. I would really like to replace it too cause it sounds pretty cheap. OK I guess I have to amend that. All the low end I thought was sub is coming from the front doors. There is no low frequency coming from the rear or trunk area. Maybe t...

Re: SoCal Range Estimates

I found an app to calculate the range and energy usage for the Leaf. I assume the Focus is equal or better. If I did it right, my 60 mi round trip at 65mph and 60 degrees would use 16.2 kWh, which works out to 324 kWh per month. My electric rate would be pushed to at least Tier 4 (32 cents/kWh), an...

Re: SoCal Range Estimates

Thanks everyone for the input! Does the vehicle have a kw/hr gauge that indicates your energy usage in real time? It would be interesting to know the usage at higher speeds, like 70mph in the carpool lane. Thanks again I don't think so. But I could be wrong. However when you are signed up to the sy...

Re: New driver to the EV community.. hello

Thanks. That's the offer I heard of. It almost seemed too good to be true, because don't you still get $2500 back from the State of California? One other question, how much are license fees? Do they base it on the MSRP or a reduced amount, I guess maybe the capitalized cost around 30K. OK, Taking n...

Re: SoCal Range Estimates

I don't have the data you need yet, however I should have data that will prove pretty valuable to you as time goes on. I am in California and my commute is 38.6 miles. I go over both the Santa Clarita pass and the Sepulveda Pass on my way. Even with the additional miles AND the additional hills I ma...
