Re: Navigation no longer rotates the map as car turns

Nav is probably in a bad state. You can try popping the nav card out then re-inserting, or you can reboot the system by removing My Ford Touch's fuse, then plugging it back in.

Re: Pros and Cons

3.5.1 is about to be deployed to electrified vehicles. I had a chat with some Ford EV guys and all that was waiting was a final version of the power control module firmware. The update to 3.5.1 is a bit more involved than on non-electrified vehicles because of the PCM update. Everyone else just need...

Re: Car turns charger on and off every so often

I'm pretty sure this is just the car's battery topping off. All chargeable gadgets do this, you just don't usually hear a large relay clicking when it happens on a cell phone.

Re: Battery Life

I don't think we can really use miles to measure degredation, especially in the display. The calculation of mileage range happens too often to be able to use that as a measure, unless someone was driving 100% identically, every single day, for many years. I think we have a great gift here with the k...

Re: Battery Life

I can't remember what the Leafs have, display-wise, but we at least see our kWh usage for every single trip in the left dashboard display. I already use this to gauge how much of my battery is left after each drive, percentage wise (running on the assumption of a 19 kWh "full battery"). So you could...

Re: Focus Electric won't start

I thought I'd respond back with some of my experimentation. So far, the only 2 issues I've had with this car are the charge cap being open and the Stop Safely Now message when I am shifting into drive. I can now confirm that both are "user error" for me . I have been paying VERY close attention to m...

Re: Daytime running lights

Anyone? I'm trying to find out if my daytime running lights are something worth mentioning to the dealer when I go in for my first service (which won't be anytime soon).

Re: Focus Electric won't start

I've had this happen about 6 times over the last 2 days. I'm waiting for a clear error or a firm "repro" before I take it to a dealership. Regardless, the problem always resolved itself after a few power off/power on cycles until the message was cleared. I've also had the shifter not actually shift ...

Re: Charging Port Door Opens Randomly

I'm with Gatorman on this one. I have found it open a few times after a drive, but I've been blaming it on forgetfulness. It's something that I really hope to solve before Seattle's rainy season starts in a few months. I wonder if the port is waterproof/water resistant.

Re: Single Speed Transmission

I personally find the FFE regen in D mode to be on the lower end of the hybrid/EV spectrum. My Escape Hybrid has a stronger regen drag in drive, as has the Leaf, Prius, and Civic Hybrid I've driven. I didn't drive a Volt beyond a single test drive, to I'll trust you guys on that. The regen I think i...
