Re: Psst, buddy, want a free charging station?

@Nal67: I've discovered that "free" ain't exactly free. Solar City's installers will charge for a minimum of 3 hours worth of work, with parts and labor, even if you already have 220V/40A service in your garage. And unless you take care of the permitting yourself, they charge for that. The $600 reba...

Re: ZENN Motor Company

Zenn bought exclusive rights to use supercaps made by EEStor for powering electric cars. That would be fine and good, except (despite promises since 2008) EEStor hasn't delivered anything. So Zenn hasn't been able to deliver anything. Read more gory details in: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EEStor - ff

Re: Focus Electric and Assembly Line Photos

If you click on that link, you get an error "Access to Ford Media Photo Database is restricted.", but offers a chance to click through to their media section. Once I did that, I was able to get to the pictures.

Re: Charging Station Options For The Focus Electric

@mrpalerider: I was VERY surprised about a sneaky sales pitch that Ford has been employing; they have been advertising that the FFE charges in half the time of a Nissan Leaf. I'm not sure what part you see as "sneaky". The Ford Focus Electric with an EVSE will charge significantly faster than a Leaf...

Re: Dealers That Actually Have / Know About the Focus EV

Do you think this would work in Washington state even though it's not one of the first few areas for the Ford Focus Electric? Or is BC in that area? Hi - if you look at the post in http://www.myfocuselectric.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=42&start=20 j79guy (Robin Sipe) indicates that there are cars...

Re: What do you want to know about the Focus Electric?

1: Infrastructure is still a weak link. Assuming there is widespread adoption of EVs, it's well understood the utility companies will have to beef up the distribution grid, especially at the final residential step-down transformers. How does Ford plan to assist with this and other infrastructure iss...

Re: My Ford Focus electric is on the way.

This is really no different than @marta's post, but it cites the original Reuter's article:

Re: Dealers That Actually Have / Know About the Focus EV

@ElectricEV: My approach was to use this map (derived from the latest data on the Ford site)... http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=211638138040322203577.0004bf9de3d4e7e9b6b3a&msa=0 ... and call the closest dealers until I found one that had already placed an order for the FFE in the color (frosted ...

Re: How much $$ can the Ford Focus Electric save you?

First, I've posted my spreadsheet to the web if you want to play with your own numbers: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Am_wIfsXTC9DdERXRi1yZ1RHN0otSVdlYWhxUzR1UGc @EEjesse: Um, not quite, I'm afraid. If you drive 2500 miles per month (30K/mile), it will take 34 months to get to breakev...

Re: Psst, buddy, want a free charging station?

@EcoDad: You said: "I could not find anywhere an estimated price for how much an installation costs for a Ford focus ev charging station from this company." I suspect that's because it's impossible to know what the wiring costs will be without a site visit. (Do you already have 220V in your garage? ...
