Re: Order 2012 Focus online?

It's over, it's finally over - the wait for the Ford Focus Electric is finally over, thanks to this Ford Focus Electric forum I found out that on November 2 Ford will be taking online orders for the Ford Focus Electric. According to the Ford Electric Vehicles facebook page, Ford will be releasing de...

Re: Electric DeLorean!!!

Wow, that's quite a shocker - not to mention that they'll make it look something like the original? I guess that will make it stand out from the crowd, and seeing as the Tesla and Fisker are already small companies making great looking cars, they needed to do something different. I think they could ...

Re: Sunday October 16th is National Plug In Day

rfruth, did you take part in any activities on the day?

I had planned to go to a group get together near me, but it didn't work it - if there was a Ford Focus Electric showing I would've been more inclined to make it work!

Re: Ford Focus Electric causes Nissan to worry

I've been chronically disappointed with the speed and quality of communication from both Nissan about the Leaf and Ford about the Ford Focus Electric. I'm not betting on anything until I see it - and that means that Ford will only get money for my Ford Focus Electric when it's sitting at the dealer ...

Re: Ford, SunPower want you to charge that electric vehicle

Did anybody else think this meant that the Ford Focus Electric would have solar panels on it's roof that would recharge itself?

I even read an article on another site about the same info and it seriously made me think the solar panels were mounted on the roof of the Ford Focus Electric...

Re: Nancy Gioia plugging in a Ford Focus Electric

I'm going to guess prototype - has anyone seen a production Ford Focus Electric yet? I don't think they exist... at least not that Ford is showing/letting on...

Re: Focus availability

Did you email David about the Ford Focus Electric and that was his reply? Or are you David? I notice that although the email says the Ford Focus Electric will be sent to California and New York in the first few months of production, there is nothing stating any sort of time frame for that. Spring 20...

Re: Cost of operating a Leaf vs a gasoline Ford Focus

If the battery packs on the Ford Focus Electric are anything like the Nissan Leaf, then you should be saving money off of the Ford Focus Electric long before the batter pack needs a replacement. Plus, I agree that fuel costs will rise and then Focus Electric owners will see savings much sooner than ...

Re: MyFord Problems could affect the Ford Focus Electric

I'd hope so too! I guess the Focus Electric would be under warranty long enough that at least any major bugs should be covered by Ford and not out of pocket expenses - that's assuming a bug doesn't cause the electric power steering to stop working at just the wrong time!

Re: Can you set the current draw when charging?

Why did you order a 32 amp model if you only want a 25 amp model? I don't think a voltage drop works well for charging batteries, which is why I think the current (amps) varies as necessary to keep the charging voltage high enough. As the battery pack gets near full, the voltage needs to stay high, ...
